Our Editor's Pre-Foundation Secret To A Flawless Base
I'm just going to come right out and say it: it doesn't matter if your foundation is $12 or $120, if you haven't prepped your skin properly, it's not going to look as good as it should. Understanding your skin type is really important if you want to nail your makeup.
Your pre-foundation prep can make or break a foundation, in my opinion, irrelevant of how amazing the foundation is. If you've got very oily skin and you're using a rich moisturiser and hydrating primer, that foundation is gonna slide off. And vice versa, if you have dry skin and slap the foundation straight on, it's gonna look flaky.

Why Is This Cream Good For Normal To Dry Skin?
Okay, I know I said pre-foundation prep, but I've also been using Confidence in a Cream as a day and night cream because I love the texture of it so much. I liken it to Kiehl's classic Ultra Facial Cream - it's rich, it glides onto the skin so smoothly and instantly adds comfort and hydration.
Created by plastic surgeons, the formula is fast-absorbing and contains barrier-supporting ingredients to help further protect the skin from dehydration. Plus, it's also got built-in priming ingredients to give your foundation the best finish possible.
Technically, this moisturiser is suitable for all skin types, but I personally recommend it for those with normal to dry skin as it is ultra-hydrating. It's also a great option for more mature skin types which often lack moisture. And you can get it in a mini version too.
What's In It?
This is a super important point for me. I'm a stickler for good ingredients, and I can confirm this cream is packed with a lot of 'em.

What Foundations Go With It?
Confidence in a Cream really could be used in conjunction with any foundation, depending on your skin type. As I said above, knowing your skin type and adjusting your skin prep based on that is super important to the finish of your makeup.
A few foundations I'd recommend pairing this with are the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream SPF50 if you like a dewy, radiant finish and have normal to dry skin. If you prefer a matte foundation, but you know you need the hydration, I'd pair it with Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup or MAKE UP FOR EVER Matte Velvet Skin Liquid Foundation.
And for those of you who prefer really light coverage like me, I've been using Confidence in a Cream underneath Ella Baché Superfluid Great SPF50+. I find it gives my skin enough hydration to last the whole day, but also provides a boost of radiance.

I love this IT cream. It's is so moisturising. It's a heavy cream and may no be the perfect cream of you have very oily skin. The smell is pleasant and it leaves my skin velvety smooth. It hydrated through out the day and doesn't need to be reapplied. My skin is happy.
