I Think I’ve Just Found My New Fave Foundation
I’m a little late to the party but I’ve just tried Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation, and I can now fully understand why Chrissy Teigen, Meghan Markle and Kim Kardashian-West all use it themselves. If you love a really radiant, natural-looking finish from your foundation – this is for you, too.
My Verdict:
The Coverage:
I normally opt for foundations with quite a sheer, dewy finish as I like my skin to shine through. While the Luminous Silk Foundation has a lighter (yet buildable) coverage, it does have more of a velvety satin finish.
So this is where I customise my skin prep to ensure I get that dewy finish along with all the benefits that this Giorgio Armani best-seller has to offer.
How I Prepped:
Semi-matte formulas can cling to dry areas of your face, so to create the illusion of a flawless, radiant canvas, I make sure my skin prep is focused on hydration when I’m using the Luminous Silk Foundation. To start, I moisturise then prime with Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk Primer, and add glow with a pump of Kryolan Shimmer Event before I go in with my foundation.
How I Applied:
Using a damp blending sponge for sheerer coverage, I applied the Luminous Silk Foundation from the centre of my face outwards, pressing the foundation into my skin with the sponge. Because of the finish of this foundation, I only used setting powder under my eyes and nowhere else.
